1. Why publish?
I believe the public has a right to understand how AI systems work, how quickly they are accelerating, and the potential damage they can cause when deployed carelessly. AI integrations are becoming unavoidable, lawsuits are increasing, and the world should not be asked to adapt blindly.
2. Do I want to publish this?
No. I do not. But we do not always get to do what we want in life. This issue is bigger than me, and bigger than my discomfort. I can only hope to help in the ways I am able.
3. Am I a doomer?
No. I use AI tools often, and I understand how powerful they can be. I do not believe AI should be ignored. I also do not believe it should be trusted to replace human judgment.
That is the tension: AI is too powerful to dismiss, and not reliable enough to depend on completely. How we navigate that is still an open question.
